[SEO good-to-know] Once images are indexed, it can take months for Google to crawl them again and update, if needed

Google's +John Mueller said on Twitter it can take Google months to update an image in their Google Image search index.

"Images don't change often, so we don't reindex them frequently." he said. http://tgcafe.it/1nmioTo

When questioned how long that can take, John added, "depends, maybe on the order of months. Also, indexing isn't guaranteed, so you can't assume it'll always happen."
