Pinterest made Instapaper premium features free for all
Pinterest made Instapaper premium features free for all
Pinterest announced that Instapaper Premium is now available to all users for free (it acquired Instapaper back in August.)
That means that all Instapaper users will have access to the following:
☕ Full-text search for all articles
☕ Unlimited notes
☕ Unlimited speed reading
☕ Text-to-speech playlists
☕ "Send to Kindle” via bookmarklet and mobile apps
☕ Kindle Digests of up to 50 articles
☕ An ad-free Instapaper website
All of the above used to be available via a subscription price of $2.99/month or $29.99/year.
Pinterest said that existing Instapaper subscribers “will receive a prorated refund in the coming weeks.”
Is this yet another 'let's acquire users first, figure out how to monetize them later' kind of business mode?

Vine co-founder Rus Yusupov and Colin Kroll have already released their next social app.
The app, called HYPE, is a live video broadcasting app and lets users add music and animations to their videos.
The app is in beta phase at the moment, it’s available only to a limited number of users as the tests continue.
